Jury resigns from film festival in 'S Durga' and 'Nude' debate in India.
Director Apurba Asrani has resigned from the jury of the International Film Festival of India on Wednesday.
Prior to this, Jury's chairman has left the post of 'Kahani' director Sujoy Ghosh.
Asrani told the Indian media that he was stepping down from the jury in support of the chairman's decision.
In his words, "I am next to the chairman of the jury, we had the duty to do a very good picture, it seems like we are failing to do so."
The beginning of the debate is to exclude the selected two films from the final list.
The Malayalam film 'Sexy Durga' and the Marathi film 'Nude' - were nominated for the film festival's Indian Panorama section by the jury.
Directed by the sensor board to name the 'Sexy Durga', the director Sunal Shashidhan changed the name of 'S Durga', due to an objection to a few words, they were covered with 'BP' words.
The theme of 'S Durga' is how a woman and a man had to face horrific experiences on the night highway, how some men actually teased them.
On the other hand, the story of Marathi film 'Nude' focuses on the life of a female model of the Art College.
The pictures have been shown in many films festivals before and have been rewarded.
Shoshidharan and director of 'Nude', Ravi Yadav, told the news agency PTI that the minister or the festival authorities did not say anything about their pictures being omitted from the list for the last two reasons.
After the final listing was published, it was known that the two were dropped.
Both of them are thinking of going to court.
